why keep it normal 78 goldwing slow build...

Sorry I missed the previous post....light is still undecided. Either a small on the fender or one tucked into a maybe rear cowl thingy.

I dropped the bars for a lower seat to help with the lower bars....it did make it more difficult for my poor design skills lol.

I'm a little farther along....rough seat shape. Not sure I want a rear cowl now, need to google seat shapes for ideas

So much scope to do something radical. How about a copy of teh endurance racer Honda built or the Dave Degens Dresda Wing for inspiration. Hotwing glass does a Wing specific street tracker seat too.

What year and model is that gas tank off of ?
 
I think late 70s gpz550...or kz550. I only had a cx500 tank and some other small suzuki ones to try. I saw a bmw tank that look good but couldn't find a cheap one....I'm a poor boy lol.

Im also a poor boy thats why on my build trying to use as much of the original parts as possible with modifying of course

How hard was it fabricating your new rear end once Im on the road i might want to do something along those lines

Depends on what tools you have and if you can weld. Im not the best and my welder sucks but its pretty strong and not too ugly lol. I think it will be pretty comfortable when done.

also it's been a while since its run...so gonna rig up the wiring and see how it's running. Guess it's time to order some spool wiring so I wont have to use this nightmare mess lol.

Thank you very much and yeah Im hoping to have my bike running on Sunday my friend who is a little more wiring inclined is coming over and we are hoping to fire it off and if not I actually found a guy with a 77 in spokane who is willing to let me help take detailed pictures
 
Could you take a straight on photo of your front wheel I think Im missing a spacer or something
 
That's my 78 gl, I will be putting 76 spoked wheels on it though. Heres pics of the 76 front....straight on pic was blocked by rotors...

Speedometer gear, rpm is off engine. screen shot from bike bandit, there are a few sites to buy parts. They have diagrams that are very helpful! Along with pictures you get parts names and part numbers.

Mine looks about the same minus the speedo gear which I do have in one of my three bins of parts
