I read that pods are very difficult to set up because they lack the length of velocity stack that usually comes with a stock airbox. Anyone care to comment?
I have 1985 GS750F that PO put pods on. It's choppy below 3K, spins from there to about 6K and struggles after that. In short this thing...
I have done this a couple times before on my KZ650 with no problem, but this last attempt has been chaotic.
When I installed the cam chain tensioner I released the spring and set the tension before I had the crank in the right position. I rotated it to the correct index and reset it – during...

I wasn't paying attantion and cracked the die cast choke plate for one of my CB350four carbs. I could replace it with a simple metal disc but it also has a little spring loaded "door" in it to allow some flow when it's closed.
If anyone has a such a spare I'd be interested. likely many other...
Turns out a bunch of old honda 750 parts I bought included a set of 6" over length forks. Unfortunately the chrome on the tubes is pretty far gone. Rusted to the point that over half the chrome has flaked off.
I know the longer forks would be of interest to the chopper builder set but I...
Is a any way to remove chrome plating at home? I know they use stripping bathes at a plating shop, is this something you can replicate at home?
I'm thinking a set-up like the soda bath and trickle charger kind of deal for removing rust.
Any thots?
i just bot a 6Volt bike (1975 Yamaha Fs1-E - see the thread "wiring for spark"), I want to hook up a 6v battery just try starting it. Rather than buy a proper battery ( where to go? How many $$s?) can I just hook up one of those square 6v flashlight batteries?
I know it would be down on cold...
Here’s the deal. I bought a 1975 Yamaha something. I havn’t tracked down specifically what it is yet. I’m told it’s a 90cc machine. It's a two stroke. Looks like a standard bike except it’s a little smaller (16” wheels) and it also has pedals.
The kid I bought it from says it starts but...
I just bought a small trailer and hitch for my Toyota Echo (yes it’s a small bike). The hitch is on but the wiring is a problem. The regular 4 pin trailer connection on my trailer works with North American style one wire bulb set-ups, but asian two wire bulbs, well not so much. Or so say the...
Engine and Transmission from a 1981/2 Honda 900 Custom. Top end needs work. Bottom end and tranny are great including the rare sub tranny for the hi/low shifter. (10 speed gear box) I'll throw in the carbs too.
I need it gone - First 100$ moves it along.

This spring I have had to put the charger on to 10amp engine boost to get my 79 KZ650 to fire up. It spins over reasonably with the battery but it still needs that extra kick - Starts good after running a while.
Normally this would make me think the battery is due to be replaced. But I thought...
Very sturdy and solid home made bike work stand with ramp. Made of wood but glued and screwed together - no nails. Can be stood on end to take up minimal space when not being used. Also has side extension for using kick stand when on table.
Easily held my 900 Ninja.
50$ Near London Ontario
Brake pads for my 79 KZ650 have thin metal "D" shaped plates riveted to the back side. Which way should the D face? Back or forward? Does it matter?
Thanks
Pictures of my buffing wheel as promised. Pretty much self explanitory. If not, perhaps this isn't a project you should tackle. Some may suggest an enclosed motor would be better/safer & they may be correct. I had this one and it's working fine. These are cheesy Crappy tire wheels. Somebody like...
I think this purchase could result in a big ass project. There was also another frame and whack of boxes full of parts. Wouldn't all fit in one load!
Funny thing is I was on my way to buy another bike that day (I did) and ran across this on the way. Ended up buying about 4-5 bikes that day...
I'm thinking the 30 year old brake lines (Flex hose) on my '79 650 could be replaced. I'd consider NOS rubber or braided stainless.
Does anyone sell a pre made SS kit for the KZ? Buying the bit and having them swaged seams like a hassle.
I checked Galfer & Goodridge - niether list a kit for the...
